yoga and healing workshops with Lea Kraemer igniting the inner flame

In a two or three-hour format:
1. breaking through blocks: a vinyasa yoga practice workshop

Find an immediate ease in even the most challenging asanas. This workshop flows from pose to pose focusing on eveness and expansion of the breath. The session ends with meditation and relaxation. Take an ecstatic journey into the mind and breath body through a rich and personal practice of Vinyasa Yoga. This is a deeply healing session to assist you in breaking old habits on both physical and psychic levels. Discover patterns of resistance in the breath (mind) and free your postures (body) by isolating blocks to your subtle energies and movements. Then, you will be able to newly build on the skills developed in steady yoga practice. Ground and align yourself in the Sattvic mind, the evolutionary aspect of the psyche.

2. chakra meditations

Chakras are the "wheels" of our psyches. Each chakra has its own unique view of the world. The heart chakra knows no boundaries and expands its love beyond the horizon, while the second chakra at the pelvis is like water and creatively relates to everything. An imbalance in a chakra is either too much or too little energy in that portion of the "wheel". But how do we know where our imbalances lie? Learn to understand your personal tendencies toward imbalance. Learn to create a yoga practice to keep yourself mentally, physically and spiritually sound. Lea shares pure techniques of Kundalini Yoga to experience, sense and understand what is happening in your own chakra and energy system. You will be guided through a series of beautiful self-reflections and meditations to become familiar with the colors, sounds and qualities of each chakra. Then Kundalini Yoga Kriyas, or sets, are given to re-balance each chakra. We end with yogic techniques to raise the Kundalini, potential ecstatic energy.

3. fearless living

This workshop introduces Kundalini Yoga practices for releasing fear and understanding its illusionary nature. There will be time for readings and discussions on the art of neutrality (Sattva) and non-attachment as an integral part of this process. Lea guides meditations to focus on expanding your awareness. In these meditations, all sensations are included. There is no judging, labeling or conceptualization of what is important or unimportant. When we start to release self-judging thoughts, our ideas and perceptions become clearer, giving way to intuition, called "true" knowledge, or Self-knowledge. Fear holds little or no energy in this greater state. Kundalini Yoga "kriyas" or series of movements, breath and meditation help you develop an experiential understanding of the state of fear-less-ness. This state is also expressed in Buddhist teachings as the "emptiness" of form. Open to all levels of students interested in living freely in non-attachment. Please come prepared for practicing physical postures as well as dynamic breath work.

4. flight! a partnered yoga workshop

Go beyond what you can do alone. Deepen your practice as you find a more steady center, experience magnificence in space, and to an expansive state of awareness. Lea has been creating paired Yoga postures and sequences for over ten years. She teaches Yoga teachers and students of all ages and abilities. Partnered yoga expresses the harmony and beauty of a heightened sense of consciousness. If you come by yourself, you will be matched with a partner at the session, or bring a friend and work together. "Flight" is about moving and breathing in synchronicity. Lea's unique sequences of partnered-postures, assists and balances strengthen core muscles and release tension in the body by opening the lower back and sacrum. The result is greater flexibility, a keen sense of balance, and you will leave with a more open heart.

You will learn purification techniques for your glandular system, how to build a powerful immune system to clean and rejuvenate yourself, and how to illuminate your aura, your energetic shield. The Meditations given in this course are not strain-ful or hard to achieve, but are natural and astoundingly do-able. Guided postural corrections and a clear understanding of the breath lead to subtle skill and depth in the practices. At the end of the day, deep relaxation is an important part of the healing process. Experience the whole Pranic body, lit up and singing with Shakti. Each student is encouraged develop their awareness and compassion, in order to conquer both daily life and life's greatest challenges with steadiness and serenity. 2. cultivating intelligent faith

This workshop is a wise encounter with your Self, giving you practical, spiritual tools to cultivate intelligent faith. You will be guided through Kundalini Yoga Kriyas, sets, and meditations which build wholeness, trust and self-understanding. There are so many teachers teaching so many things. But the real knowledge is that we are complete right now. Can anything truly be "learned"? Yogi Bhajan, who brought Kundalini Yoga to the West, referred to the power of devotional meditation as a process of Self-blessing. The divine Self is the source of all love, and has not a thing to do with ego, judgment, "right-ness" or "wrong-ness". This is an opportunity to evaluate how you can move in alignment with the Unlimited source of grace. The workshop is open to all levels and includes physical Yoga and classical breath work as well as seated meditation.

3. kundalini yoga for health recovery

This workshop is appropriate for those brand new to Yoga, yet will be valuable for students who have participated in programs in the past. Kundalini Yoga utilizes breath, meditation, posture, visualization, and includes unique and targeted methods for rejuvenation and healing. Kundalini Yoga works with the immune, glandular, nervous, and cardio-vascular systems to increase overall health and vitality and to conquer areas of fatigue and stress. This session will help you re-pattern old ways of thinking and increase your sense of self-efficacy, so that you feel more able to direct your life healthfully. Learn to relax in balance and in harmony. While it is not the intention of this workshop to cover individual health programs, yogic techniques presented here will assist you to build endurance and wellness. This workshop is given with respect to the individual needs and abilities of each student. All levels are most welcome. In private practice, Lea works with clients recovering from chronic illness. She has designed programs, classes and case studies in Yoga at wellness centers and hospitals in the NY Metropolitan area. These classes and workshops are often part of the outreach program.

"Re-Treat Yourself", is a week-long journey which moves from challenging physical Kundalini Yoga kriyas, or sets, filled with spicy, postures and flexibility inducing arches, to the most sublime meditations on the vibrating, pulsating beat of our hearts. We begin by sweating and working hard, inviting our bodies to release stress and tension deep within the muscles and internal organs. By the last meditation of the week, it's all about the Naad, the blissful, Divine vibration of sound. Through Lea's guidance you will leave transformed, having gained insight into the nature of your own psychological being as well as deepening the skill s of your Yoga asana practice. Alignment instructions assist each participant to find a form of the posture most beneficial to their own mind and body. The week of Kundalini Yoga kriyas focus on intelligent postural instructions, giving attention to internal subtle cues. Meditation sessions flow from an outer to inner awareness, as a natural, integrated path toward the Yoga of the Self. Students of all levels are encouraged to attend.
